What Is Thought Field Therapy ?

How Was TFT Discovered ?
What Can TFT Be Used For ?

Thought Field Therapy or TFT is a relatively new technique for the rapid elimination of all types of emotional distress. It works in a similar way to acupuncture by stimulating the body's energy meridians to resolve problems.
No needles are used - instead the client uses their fingers to simply tap on various parts of their body. Amazingly, emotional problems often disappear
within minutes.

TFT was invented and developed by Dr. Roger Callahan Ph.D. who is one of America's most distinguished and experienced Clinical Psychologists. His dissatisfaction with the often poor results of conventional therapies led to an interest in acupuncture and applied kinesiology. His famous success story was in treating Mary, who had a chronic water phobia, and led to the eventual discovery of TFT. It can be used for most psychological and emotional problems such as; anxiety, depression, phobias, addictions, psychological trauma, grief, insomnia, panic attacks etc.
It can also treat problems that are hard to treat with conventional therapy such as jet-lag, negative attitudes and behaviour, and difficulty in visualising.
It has also been found to be effective in treating cardiac problems.
How Does TFT Work ?
Conventional medicine assumes the mind and brain are the same thing and that emotional problems are caused by structural or chemical imbalances in the brain and can only be treated with drugs.
Dr. Callahan believes that the mind is contained in a 'field', which surrounds the body, similar to an electric field which surrounds a live conductor. When we think of a problem, we tune into a part of this field, called a 'thought field', in a similar way to tuning in to a radio station. Within this thought field are negative information patterns called 'perturbations', which cause our negative emotional state. Research has confirmed that by tapping on certain energy meridian points, in the correct sequence, the perturbations are subsumed and the negative emotion disappears. The client can now think about their problem as much as they want, and they will feel no associated negative emotion such as anger, guilt, anxiety, trauma etc.
