The croft clinic was established in 1998 by Kevin Flynn, a clinical hypnotherapist, for the professional development of clinical hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Kevin's interest in hypnosis began in 1990 and he has continued to train and learn ever since. He gained Certificate and Diploma qualifications in clinical hypnosis with one of the country's largest training organisations, before going on to expand his knowledge by training in NLP and Time Line Therapy with the British Society of Medical and Dental Hypnosis.

An interest in training led Kevin to become involved with Terence Watts - one of the UK's most popular and successful hypnotherapists, and founder of the Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnosis. He initially presented hypnotherapy training (as an accredited trainer for the Essex Institute), on behalf of Terence in the North East and then went on to develop his own style of presenting and founded the Northern College of Clinical Hypnosis, which is busy delivering professional hypnotherapy training across the North East of England.

Kevin spends his time between his full time private practice, the croft clinic, and lecturing for the Northern College at weekends. His interest in therapy is not limited to clinical hypnosis as he has also studied Reiki to level 2 and spent a year at the Northern College of Acupuncture, gaining a Diploma in Accupressure Massage. His studies were cut short by a growing interest in a new therapy from America called Thought Field Therapy or TFT. He trained, initially in the UK, before going to California to train to Diagnostic Practitioner level with the founder, Dr. Roger Callahan, and is currently, one of only five certified lecturers in TFT in the UK.
